Written by Victor Kaftal and Lee boyd this Canaan Dog Handbook is definitely an excellent addition to your bookshelf. I have had the pleasure of meeting both Victor and Lee a number of years ago, both are well respected people amongst Canaan Dog fanciers.
This book covers everything you may want to know about owning and caring for a Canaan Dog. Starting off with the origin and history then continuing to a couple of chapters on the description and standard, albeit the American standards, which are slightly different to the UK breed standard. The following chapters cover breed requirements, selecting your Canaan Dog, your puppy's new home, feeding your Canaan Dog, Training your Canaan Dog and even Canine behaviour and temperament. The final chapters describe the versatility of the breed, ending with health matters that concern Canaan Dogs.
Well written and with some great photographs. Although I am slightly biased on the photographs, as a photo of our first litter is included on page49!
